Expanding Data Analysis Insights, Islamic Political Students Join Nvivo 12 Plus Training

Writing a dissertation and publishing it in reputable international journals is a must for students in pursuing an education at the doctoral level, not least for UMY’s Islamic-political science students. In writing a dissertation, proper and correct data analysis is needed so that the resulting thesis is of high quality. With the development of information and technology, the application of data analysis in writing a dissertation also experienced events, one of which is Nvivo 12 Plus.
Responding to this, the Islamic Political-Political Doctoral Program, in collaboration with Jusuf Kalla School of Government (JKSG), held a Workshop on Writing Articles and Qualitative Data Analyst Training with Nvivo 12 Plus. Present as speaker & trainer, Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc (Director of JKSG), and Salahudin, M.Sc, M.P.A (UMM Lecturer). This activity was attended by political Islam-political science students and UMY graduate students.
Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi explained that using the Nvivo application in writing a dissertation can make it easier for students to display data.
“Qualitative data from research results can be visualized with pictures so that they can be easily read or understood by everyone,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dian Suluh Kusuma Dewi, an Islamic-political science political student, was very enthusiastic and interested in participating in the training. She revealed gaining new insights in analyzing data.
“Good, adding to the scientific specialties, especially how to analyze qualitative data so that the data becomes comprehensive,” She concluded.
The activity which lasted for three days (3-5 / 10) in the Meeting Room of the Director of the Integrated Campus Postgraduate Program UMY was expected to be able to encourage students to write dissertations and scientific articles in good quality and so that they could be published in reputable international journals
