Yogyakarta, on Wednesday November 15, 2017 a seminar on dissertation research result from Rashda Diana entitled “Pelembagaan Politik Negara Modern Al-Mawardi” (Political Institution of Modern State of Al – Mawardi) was conducted. The Seminar was located at the Tutorial Room, 1st Floor of Graduate Building, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
Rashda Diana explained that political theory of Al-Mawardi does not recognize the dichotomy between political leaders and religious leaders. As a pioneer of Islamic political thinkers, Al-Mawardi explores theories of institutionalization of the caliphate, social contracts and others as discussed in al-Akham al-Sulthaniyyah. Al-Mawardi’s thoughts had contributed to the change of government during the Abbasid period, and it is regarded as modern thoughts. Based on Rashda’s analysis, the concept of state institution initiated by Al-Mawardi is very relevant to the recent development of modern state institutions . 
The Examiners of the seminar are Dr. Muh. Khaeruddin Hamsin, Dr. Surwandono, M.Si., Dr. Mega Hidayati, M.A, Prof. Dr. Siswanto Masuri, M.A., and Dr. Hasse J, M.A (Chairman). This seminar was opened for students who want to attend it. At the end of the session, the Examiners provided questions, suggestions and criticisms on the technical material, methodology and substance of the dissertation and Rashda Diana has to revise her dissertation based on these suggestions.
