Welcoming New Students, Political Islam and Post-graduate Programs of UMY Holds Initial Public Lecture

In order to welcome and introduce academic processes to postgraduate students of UMY academic year 2018-2019, Doctoral program of political Islam-political science and Postgraduate Doctoral Program held an Initial Public Lecture entitled “Ahead of the 2019 Presidential Election: Building Progressive Political Civilization” on Saturday (29 / 9) in the 4th Floor Postgraduate Meeting Room, Kasman Singodimedjo Building UMY Integrated Campus. This activity was opened directly by the Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P. and attended by all Postgraduate New Students.
Appearing as the Keynote Speaker in the first public lecture, Dr. M. Busyro Muqodas, S.H., M.Hum, who is the former Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2010-2011 and Dr. Hasse J., M.A. as moderator. In front of postgraduate new students, Busyro Muqoddas explained political civilization was progressing between reality-reality.
Busyro said that the formulation of the political ideal of national civilization was essentially the ideology and paradigm of the state politics which originated from the four paragraphs of the Mukaddimah of the 1945 Constitution. He was as a binder of state institutions and elements of society as a whole. The existence of economic inequality and the reality of social injustice reflects a state government that is inconsistent in upholding the political policy of civilization.
Busyro advised the need for a set agenda to revitalize universities in a national development orientation with the spirit of civilization politics advancing based on the mukoddimah morality of the 1945 Constitution. It is hoped that the formulation of priority scales of ideality-based thesis and dissertation research with the political reality of civilization.
